Beautiful, romantic Peonies! There are so many amazing different varieties of peonies and we were inspired to create this design when visiting Charles Chesshire’s rare plant nursery in West Dorset, close to my own clothing boutique on Symondsbury Estate, near Bridport.

Charles is a specialist in Peonies and sells some beautiful and rare varieties. The one we have used for our inspiration is called Callie’s Memory and is an Itoh peony. It comes in pretty apricot/pale pink and cream colours. Colours take differently on fabrics and our floral print has come out in a gorgeous apricot-pink through to deep coral colour and is juxtaposed against a range of greens.

The lightweight short kimono can be worn both casually or smart as a little jacket and is made from a draping, silky viscose fabric.

The kimono has a stitching detail down the front opening and wide 3/4 length sleeves. Being slightly longer over the hips than at the front, this short kimono jacket creates a very flattering silhouette. Making it exceptionally comfortable to wear whilst ensuring you look fabulously stylish.

The perfect wardrobe accessory for occasions, to wear over swimwear or to add an artistic flourish to your outfit. It will keep the chill off you on summer evenings but can equally be worn with a polo neck in the colder months. You can pair it with a camisole or a lightweight long sleeve jersey too. For something a little smarter, wear it over a simple block-coloured dress and add a set of heels. It also looks great either knotted at the front or tucked into jeans for a more boho style.

From My Mother’s Garden uses environmentally responsible fabrics and techniques wherever possible. All the new styles are created using sublimation printing which minimises fabric wastage. The first collection includes styles made of Viscose which is a sustainable fabric.
